Clio, 1.5L (MAG), 2021

Description;

This extraordinary red wine is recognized as a true myth in itself. It has exceptional intensity and concentration, where the careful use of wood reveals balsamic and mineral notes that never overshadow the presence of the fruit. El Nido Clio 2021 is an outstanding red wine, produced by the renowned El Nido winery in the Jumilla DOP region. Cultivating Monastrell (aka. Mourvedre) and Cabernet Sauvignon in old vineyards facing northeast and on gentle hills facing north. Some of these Monastrell vineyards are up to 90 years old, while those of Cabernet Sauvignon are 40 years old.

Since its first commercialization in 2002 under the El Nido and Clio brands, the company has sought to produce exceptional wines that would not only be a reference in the area, but also at a national level, achieving this objective in an astonishing way. Its second vintage, in 2004, received 99 Parker points for El Nido and 97 Parker points for Clio, thus consolidating El Nido as one of the most emblematic wines of Spain.

This wine is made by manual harvest and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Subsequently, it matures in a mix of French and American barrels for 23 months until bottling. The final wine is a blend of 70 % Monastrell and 30 % Cabernet Sauvignon. Don’t miss the opportunity to buy El Nido Clio 2021 wine and enjoy a unique gastronomic experience.

Tasting Notes;

Clio 2021 is a red wine that captivates from the outset with its profound aroma of ripe fruits such as blackberry and blueberry, augmented by sweet nuances of candied fruit. On the palate, it unfolds with a robust and flavourful presence, where the dense and sweet tannins interlace to bestow a sumptuous and full-bodied texture. Hints of roasted coffee, cocoa, and liquorice enhance the tasting journey, culminating in a prolonged and refined finish. This wine is distinguished by its vigour and richness, promising to evolve splendidly with bottle aging.
