Casa Marin

When you think of a traditional winemaker, you don’t think of María Luz Marín. Founder of Casa Marín and affectionately nicknamed “the Crazy Woman of Wine”. María Luz has defied all the established norms in Chilean viticulture. With an overwhelming passion for the coastal terroir of Lo Abarca, María Luz has taken Chilean viticulture to new horizons. Her bold approach and creativity have transformed winemaking into a true work of art, creating wines that are not only drunk, but felt. As the winery’s leader, she has managed to squeeze the essence of the Chilean coastal soil, creating fresh, vibrant wines full of character. Her passion for Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir is unparalleled, and her name has become synonymous with quality and authenticity.
But it’s not just about wines. It is a vision, a love for the land and for what it can offer you. María Luz is not afraid to experiment, to challenge convention and to redefine what it means to make wine in Chile. With her unique style, she has put Viña Casa Marín on the global map, proving that when tradition is combined with a good dose of audacity, the results are simply spectacular.
Each bottle of Casa Marín is a tribute to the earth, the vines, the wind and the sea, but also to the determination of those who believe that life deserves to be celebrated. Our wines are not just a drink, they are an award: a recognition of the moments that remind us of the extraordinary of the everyday.
Because at Casa Marín, celebrating life is in our nature. Casa Marín was born out of a bold dream led by María Luz Marín, Chile’s first female winemaker. In 2000, she challenged the established norms of Chilean viticulture by betting on the production of high-end white wines, a revolutionary idea at the time. In addition, she had the courage to plant vineyards in Lo Abarca, a coastal corner with extreme conditions, considered unsuitable for vine cultivation. Her vision transformed this territory into an exceptional terroir that today gives life to unique and internationally awarded wines.
Today, the new generation, represented by Jamie Verbraak, Felipe Marín and Nicolás Marín, continues this pioneering legacy. Combining experience, creativity and innovation, they work together to take the essence of Casa Marín to new heights, without losing sight of the connection with nature and commitment to quality that defines the vineyard.
