Description;
Bodegas Morca is located in the village of Borja, in the province of Zaragoza, Spain and belongs to the Campo de Borja appellation – the region famous for the red firm Garnacha based wines. Garnacha grapes from small plots with low yields are hand-picked and fermented separately in small barrels and then transferred to French oak barrels to complete the malolactic fermentation process. The fruit for this masterpiece of Tourán comes from a very old small (single) vineyard. The Tourán is the top model of Bodegas Morca and is in the Top 100 of the Worlds Best Wines of Wine Spectator. This beautiful Tourán is a blend of great concentration and aging potential without losing freshness. Only around 2,500 bottles of this masterpiece are made in each vintage. This is super ripe and intoxicating, in the style of a high-end Amarone where freshness and power go hand-in-hand. The wine is designated Campo de Borja DOP.
Tasting Notes;
Dark ruby red in the glass, the Touran has notes of roasted notes, smoke, baking spices and black olives with hints of fried corn and meat. It is full, juicy, intoxicating with present oak and fine and abundant tannins and a creamy finish. The wine is also vegan. It is a wine that will continue to improve with time but it will always be a powerful, ripe and oaky Garnacha.
Food Pairings;
The Touran Garnacha is a great meditation wine and a versatile food companion, that goes well with tapas as well as grilled meats or hearty stews. Enjoy it at an optimal serving temperature to fully grasp its aromatic complexity.
