Description;
Bodegas Morca is located in the village of Borja, in the province of Zaragoza, Spain and belongs to the Campo de Borja appellation – the region famous for the red firm Garnacha based wines. The grapes of Garnacha from small plots with low yields are hand-picked and fermented separately in small vats, then transferred into French oak barrels to complete the malolactic fermentation process. The wine spends 18 months of maturing and then every barrel is tasted and after a very strict selection we obtain a limited production of this exclusive wine. The wine is designated Campo de Borja DOP.
Tasting Notes;
It presents itself in a deep, ruby red hue, which already promises a foretaste of the fullness and intensity that characterizes it. On the nose, Morca Garnacha unfolds a tantalizing palette of ripe red berries, such as juicy strawberries and dark cherries. This is accompanied by subtle nuances of black pepper, Mediterranean herbs and a hint of vanilla that comes from the careful aging in oak barrels. On the palate, this wine presents itself with an impressive depth of flavour and velvety texture. The fruity fullness continues and is accompanied by well-balanced tannins that give the wine structure and longevity. Notes of spices and mineral nuances add to the complexity and give the Morca Garnacha an elegant, long-lasting finish.
Food Pairings;
This wine is an excellent accompaniment to Mediterranean dishes, grilled meats or aged cheeses.
